Back from Vegas
Dec. 22nd, 2004 07:31 pmOk, I am now officially legal to gamble, drink, and party out all night. Yeah right. So my roommate and I went to Vegas to celebrate my 21st birthday and let's just say not everything went as planned:
-Monday: Due to traffic, arrived at Las Vegas later than planned. Went shopping at an outlet--results: a scarf and a pair of gloves. Spent an hour finding parking, checking in, and dragging our tired asses across the casino floor to our room on the 19th floor before the luggage could topple us over. Having decided to shower and take a brief nap before going out to start our celebration, we blissfully put our heads down on the pillows. We are now dead to the world and don't get up again until 8 am the next morning. A whole night wasted.
-Tuesday: We decide to go buy show tickets for half price at this place near MGM casino, but, not being familiar with the layout of the casinos we get lost and have to backtrack several times to even find our way outside the casino/hotel. At the ticket counter, all the shows we wanted to see were not available, so we decide to settle for Thunder from Down Under (at full price T_T) and Bite-- yup, topless guys from Australia and topless vampire rock angels ^_^;
We later find out that there is a 30 minute gap between both shows, but the hotels the shows are at are at the opposite ends of the strip-- so in less than 30 minutes we have to cross the casino to the parking lot- fight Vegas traffic- find parking at the other hotel, and then run to the other end of the casino where the show is being held. Thunder from Down Under was entertaining, with the MC reminding me of Seamus Harper from Andromeda- very cute!! The mostly female audience was wild--lots of screaming encouragements of "Take it off! Take it off!" )"it" referring to the thong that barely covered the guy's assets. The Bite show was not bad, even with the topless parts (I mentally compared the girls breasts and considered which girls had implants)- there was magic, loud rock music, singing, dancing, and some acrobatic performances. Got back around midnite and crashed.
Wednesday: Went to the spa, but after a couple of minutes in the heated whirlpool my roomie fainted and we spent the rest of the time in the waiting area with the EMT trying to help her recover. Packed, checked out, and back on the road for 4 more hours of endless desert and road. Got back in time for my sister's birthday, watched them do DDR, sing, and finally all toggle off to hang out at the mall at 9PM.
So in conclusion (regarding the Vegas trip) I was able to put 4 quarters in the slot machine (so I now have a one dollar loss), have yet to try the strawberry daiquiri or any other alcoholic beverage, and didnt even get to go to the clubs........sighs...
I guess, like sex, I was hoping for too much the first time, and with more experience and knowledge, the next time will be more satisfying.
But, now that I'm free for a while, I'm working on my slashing of Methos and Spike ^_^.
