Ok, so I apparently forgot that I had jury duty this week and thus any and all plans that I had to take a break after Christmas has been burned and buried. Why can't they figure out a better way to get jurors without wasting so much time for "potential" jurors who get to waste a whole week waiting to see if they get called in. Even worse, even if they get called in, there's no gurantee that driving all the way to downtown will actually amount to anything besides sitting in a waiting room from 8 am to 5 pm twiddling thumbs, since not everybody that gets called in will actually be selected to be on the jury of a case.

I don't mind doing my civil duty (it might even be fun ^_^), but, like most people, I don't want to have my time wasted when I can be doing something else, like volunteer work or seeing friends I haven't seen in over 3 years. Between school and work, I barely have enough time to do some volunteer work let alone have some time for rest and relaxation. It's been so bad I haven't been to the movie theater for over a year. But, enough ranting, its just that I have people asking about my plans for this week and I was unable to give any confirmation on when my schedule was free, sighs.....

On another note, the rest of my December will be rainy and windy-- which I've been expecting after so much warm and sunny days--Christmas doesn't really feel authentic to me if the sun's shining high in the clear blue sky and I see people wearing tank tops and miniskirts at the frozen foods aisle at the supermarket *snicker* I guess living in the Midwest has spoiled me for a California Christmas.

Well, I hope everybody had and are still having a wonderful holiday season and joyful new year!
