HP and the GoF
Dec. 5th, 2005 12:14 amSooooo, saw HP's fourth movie on Saturday and I have to say I really enjoyed the graphics and the adorable actors. See, the great thing about not reading any of the books and only fanfiction, is that I don't have anything to expect when I see it. I don't have high expectations that every scene in the book will be in the movie, so I'm happy with what I get, haha. By reading fanfics, I can get the gist of the plot without reading the actual books, which allows me to follow up on what has already happened on the other three movies, which I have yet to see in full. Though I felt the screen could've been bigger, just so I could get the full effect of all the nice technology that went into making such an action-filled film. Too bad Draco and Snape didn't get that many scenes, but I'm sure we'll see more of them later on in the later films.
Though if you think about it, it is more likely for the adult actors, such as the actor who plays Snape, to remain the same throughout all seven movies than the main teenage stars, simply because by the time the last film is ready to be made, the kids will look too old. Snape is an adult, so a few years will not change him physically in any significant way, yet Harry is only suppose to be 17 or 18 in the last one. At the rate it's going, the kids will probably be in their early 20's by then, and might not fit the roles, which would totally suck cause it'd ruin the continuity of watching the same kids grow up from age 11.
So enough about HP, I'm still debating if I want to see Aeon Flux. It's sad I don't know that many people who actually had cable and watched late night MTV during their childhoods and would remember this animated series. I'll always remember it as a somewhat creepy and disturbing series, with a plot that I never fully understood, yet was somehow intrigued by. However, I remember enough that I'm nit-picky about such things as the main actress not looking as thin as the original character or the lack of the really fat councilman whose stomach is a portal to some weird dimensional subspace or whatever.
On a good note, I really really really want to see Pirates of the Caribbean II, just cause it looks like something fun to see, more humor this time hopefully. I have to admit, Johnny Depp really suits these weird roles well.
